We are seeking an experienced and proactive MERN Stack Developer to join our permanent remote-first engineering team. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in React/Next.js and Node.js who are ready to own feature development, optimize performance, and contribute to scalable application architecture.
Role Overview
As a MERN Stack Developer, you will be responsible for end-to-end feature development—from building responsive user interfaces to designing and optimizing scalable backend services. You will collaborate closely with product and design teams to translate requirements into robust, high-performance code.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Develop, test, and deploy features across the full MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js).
- Design and implement modern, high-performance frontends using Next.js for optimal user experience and SEO performance.
- Build and maintain clean, scalable RESTful APIs and microservices using Node.js/Express.
- Collaborate on data modeling and write efficient database queries for MongoDB.
- Implement and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality.
- Participate in code reviews, suggest best practices, and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Ensure application performance, security, and scalability standards are consistently met.
Required Qualifications (Must-Have Skills)
- Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience developing full-stack applications.
- Core Stack: Deep proficiency in the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js).
- Frontend Framework: Strong command of Next.js (including server components, routing, and deployment).
- Database: Experience with MongoDB and Mongoose/other ORMs for data modeling and querying.
- Testing: Practical experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha, or similar).
- Remote Work: Excellent self-discipline, time management, and communication skills required for a 100% remote culture.
Nice-to-Have Skills (Bonus)
- Exposure to NestJS or other modern Node.js/TypeScript frameworks.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker) and basic cloud deployment concepts (AWS/Azure).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline principles.
